Our server offerings
After decades selling various manufacturer server solutions Sirius has settled on focusing primarily on Sun Microsystems & Fujitsu Siemens Computers offerings & currently we think they have some of the best solutions in the Universe!
Servers
Sun & Fujitsu
Sun's co-development with Fujitsu has reaped technological dividends in the culmination of the M-Series product line which is as good as there is out there in it's class. What we like about these servers is the engineering quality that has gone into them exemplified by the fact you need a special lifting device & at least two people to rack them as they are so heavy! Their performance is pretty outstanding too based on SPARC-64 VI & VII (dual & quad core). Next
Servers
CoolThreads
CoolThread servers based on Sun's own innovative UltraSPARC T1, T2, & T2 Plus processor running Solaris 10 and Linux. You can get up to 256 simultaneous compute threads and 32 cores! Amazing bang for buck & brilliant for certain applications such as virtualisation & consolidation, web infrastructure, network apps, security & also great for eco-conscious requirements.
Servers
x86
Sun have added AMD Opteron & Intel Xeon based servers to their portfolio running a choice of operating system, Solaris, Windows, Linux and more. These servers provide a combination of performance, density, scalability and energy efficiency while lowering costs and complexity. Particularly, check out the X4600 which provides a huge amount of performance and scalability for the the price.
Servers
Blades
Sun's new generation of Blades have evolved & are now radically efficient in terms of space, power and cooling & operationally efficient & productive. An industry first, UltraSPARC, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon processors running together in a single chassis! Sun's Blades are a key infrastructure component in Sun's Constellation System which is the world's first open Petascale computing environment.

Servers
Hybrid
When you need extreme data access speeds, especially in a compact package, at a very low price, then take a look at Sun's X4540 storage server. Where else can you get 8 cores of AMD Opteron processing and 48TB of storage in a 4RU server? It scales from 12TB to 48TB in a 4U rack space. It has the highest throughput rates (2.0GB/s from disks to network, 3.0GB/s to memory) & runs Solaris OS, Linux, and Windows.
Servers
HA / Cluster
Whether it is Sun's Geographic Cluster or the more commonly used & heterogeneous Symantec Cluster you can protect your data via multi-site, multi-cluster disaster recovery solution that manages the availability of application service and data across geographically dispersed clusters.

Solaris ZFS and Containers
ZFS is a new file system from Sun provided free in the Solaris 10. It provides very high levels of data integrity and performance. Also, because it is 128-bit based, it opens the door to virtually unlimited data scalability. ZFS uses a pooled storage model in which storage capacity is held within an expandable pool called a zpool. Multiple file systems can exist within a zpool and they can share the capacity and IO resources of the pool.
