The Sirius Data 1111 Challenge

Event Details

Teams of four people will compete in the challenge which will commence at 14.00 hours on Remembrance Sunday 14th November 2010 at David Lloyd Gym, Glory Mill Lane, Wooburn Green, High Wycombe, Bucks. HP10 0DB.  David Lloyd have kindly allowed this challenge to take place on their facilities & have made this event also open to non-gym members (over 18 years of age) on the day. There are no entry fees or minimum sponsorship requirements this year either. However, you must take personal responsibility that you are fit & able to participate in this challenge & indeed as a condition of taking part you must comply with the Terms & Conditions herein & sign a Health Assessment Waiver/Physical Activity Readiness form (see navigation bar on right to download these) exempting David Lloyd Limited & Sirius Data Limited from any liability arising from injury, ill-health or death.

Many participants will be potentially commemorating Remembrance Sunday in the morning so we intend to start the event at 14.00 on the 14th November 2010. We currently have no idea how popular or, not as the case may be, this event will be so we have set the time to start for 14.00. However, if many teams enter then we may have to bring forward & stagger the start times to start on Saturday or even start at 11 minutes past the hour on the 11th November. So please bear with us with regard to the organisation of this event in its inaugural year! This is intended primarily to be a fun event whilst raising money for good causes. Please note we are a small company organising this in conjunction with David Lloyd & as such we will endeavour to make it a well organised event, but we are amateurs in this area so it might not be as slick as you might like it to be in its first year!

We have chosen to start with just David Lloyd in Wooburn Green since the gym equipment needs to be the same. For instance, David Lloyd’s kit in Maidenhead is different to that of Wooburn Green. The kit will all have to be calibrated to the same minimum “effort” level which will be set:-

Minimum Effort Levels
X-Trainer - 8
Row - 4
Run - 5
Bike - 5

You can put up the effort levels if you want & you can walk the run if you wish, but these are the minimum effort levels required to take part & you must consider your own health risks, fitness levels & ability to take part. Depending on the speed you go at the challenge is as hard or as easy as you wish to make it!
