Oracle are clearly the world class Database leader, but over recent years they have also developed their application suite and programming tool kits. Interestingly, with their latest acquisition of Sun Microsystem’s Oracle have stated their intent to grab hold of hardware infrastructure in the Data-Centre. We feel it is a great marriage and Oracle will help develop Solaris & Java further. Currently the acquisition has been referred by European legislators & a final decision is expected in January. We fully expect this to go through.
